Identify the common orbital vascular lesions associated with specific age groups and their key imaging characteristics.

Capillary hemangiomas are most common in infants (younger than 1 year) and typically present as a rapidly growing mass within the first weeks of life. On imaging, they appear as well-defined, enhancing lesions. Lymphangiomas occur in older children (3 to 15 years) and are prone to bleeding, often containing blood degradation products visible on MRI as fluid-fluid levels. Cavernous hemangiomas, seen in adults, are sharply circumscribed, round lesions with homogeneous enhancement on CT or MRI. Venous varices, generally in adults, appear as dilated veins that change in size with the Valsalva maneuver. A common pitfall is mistaking a lymphangioma for a more aggressive lesion due to its complex appearance.
